As a fellow keyboardist, I can only find one word to describe John's approach to the Hammond organ - wizardry.
- JT Thomas - Bruce Hornsby Band
Ginty is known for his great organ work with the Family Band, playing off of the energy of Randolph. But, on " I Shall Not Walk Alone", it is his beautiful piano work that makes the song. For any fan of Ben Harper- or music in general, for that matter- this song is worth the price of the album."

Review of the Blind Boys of Alabama "Higher Ground")
A New Jersey native, organist John Ginty has toured and recorded with artists such as JEWEL, SANTANA, MATHEW SWEET, SHERYL CROW, RYAN ADAMS, BAD RELIGION, CITIZEN COPE, and was an original member of ROBERT RANDOLPH and the FAMILY BAND, in which John received two Grammy Nominations, as well as a Gospel Music Award for Urban Album of the year, 2003. In that same year, John also appeared on the Blind Boys of Alabama's Grammy Award winner "Higher Ground". His discography spans over a decade, and demonstrates his eclectic influences and unique sounds on keys.
In early 2005, John put together his own band, made up of some of the finest musicians from the local New Jersey music scene. In rehearsals, the band developed a unique sound...Hammond organ driven, improvisational, well-crafted American songwriting laced with Latin rhythms, gospel and southern soul guitar...described once as "Outlaw Gospel".
