Danny Burns is a 25 year old performing songwriter from the Northwest of Ireland, based in Nashville, TN and has been on the road as a full-time musician/performing songwriter since the age of 17. Coming from a working musician's family, this seemed to be the normal thing to do after finishing school!
His touring history includes New York, Nashville, New Orleans, Memphis, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Miami, D.C, Maryland, Derry, Belfast, Dublin, Copenhagen and throughout the Northwest of Ireland and Scandanavia.
Danny's music has many different styles and influences, but he refers to it as "just roots music". He was hailed early in his career by Home & Away NYC as "The next generation of balladeers. One to watch!". Danny has shared the stage with great songwriters and artist's such as Damien Dempsey, Seanchai & the Unity Squad (headed by Black 47 founder and former member Chris Byrne) and Gary Og. Danny was also featured in a documentary about Irish living-legend singer/songwriter Shane McGowan and "The Fairytale of New York" which was aired on Irish national television.
After a series of extended residencies in New York, Chicago, and New Orleans, Danny and his band earned the reputation of being a superior live act, and soon got the call from Nashville to weave the influences of the last 4 years into his first album titled "From the Flames' (which he is finishing up between gigs in Berlin, Germany). Danny was recently signed to a 6 month European tour and expects to tour the U.S. extensively later this year.
